Torchwood

Not a review.  Just a comment at the end

Okay then.

Jack, Ianto, and a stopwatch,

There has to be a perfectly innocent explanation.  But the smutty ones are also interesting.

So come on.  What are they?

And is there a Torchwood stopwatch slash community yet?

They do 'time trials'... Running ten laps around Jack's office.

Or maybe they're doing experiments to find the absolute opimum time to let an egg boil...

Dur. Missed the word 'stopwatch' there. Although it does get a reference in the fics written since Sunday

Innocent explanations? Can't think of a single one ... (unless they are playing c(l)ock chess .... smirk!

Easy - they race space snails across the office desk.

Heh, I'm not sure it's got a specific community, but there are plenty of fics and threads on the normal Torchwood and Torchwood slash comms...

Who can last longest?
Who can go down for longest?
Breath play?

Having now seen that episode, yeah, there are not non-smutty explanations. Which is a bit boring actually. Half the fun of slash is the 'what if...' factor (IMHO, anyway). OTOH Torchwood is an absolute gift to slashers, but then they make it far too easy and obvious. Also, and this may just be a grrl thing, but it's just not sexy. Unless you're actually going to throw in a bit of nekkidness (which the Beeb so aren't (thank the gods)), if they want to make a show a bit grown up, a bit raunchy, then you hint at it and let people's twisted imaginations do the rest. Not "Fancy a shag?" then cut to the credits.

So yeah, I muchly concur with the opinion that Torchwood isn't 'adult' Dr Who, it's 'giggling behind the bikesheds' Dr Who.
