2014 in review
Not done one of these for a few years. Felt I should
1. What did you do in 2014 that you'd never done before?
Drove through several differnt countries. Also drove at over 100mph! Learned some German.
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Didn't make any. Won't make any until at least March. I did make one in March 2013, which was to be happy. I think I was in a reasonably good place.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Don't think so. Niece was born a few days before last year started.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope.
5. What countries did you visit?
Germany, Poland
6. What would you like to have in 2015 that you lacked in 2014?
More Sleep! Also a more permanent home.
7. What date from 2014 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
22nd March perhaps. Started in Germany.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Driving to Germany
9. What was your biggest failure?
My inability to think of one makes me think my lack of specific goals
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing serious.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My car! That MR2 was seriously fun!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
The German football team did very well. Have generally been impressed by the Pope. Even think Russell Brand did well over the New Era housing thing.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Everyone who was part of the mob attacking Matt Taylor for his shirt.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Being piled up for a deposit for a house.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Nine Worlds, Worldcon, NYECon II
16. What songs will always remind you of 2014?
The Conhita Wurst one from Eurovision
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. thinner or fatter?
About the same
ii. richer or poorer?
Richer!
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
German practice. Creative pursuits.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Getting angry with people being wrong on the internet!
20. How did you spend Christmas?
With family.
21. Did you fall in love in 2014?
Well, there is this girl I'm quite fond of...
22. How many one-night stands?
None! Well, technically I guess there may have been one...
23. What were your favorite TV programs?
Legend of Korra, Agents of SHIELD, Gotham.
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't do hate. I did realise that I can do better without a few toxic people though.
25. What were the best books you read?
Didn't do nearly enough reading. Probably Broken Homes by Ben Aaronovich
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Can't think of any.
27. What did you want and get?
A kiss at midnight! (Okay technically that happened very early in 2015)
28. What did you want and not get?
A sense of stabiity
29. What was your favorite film of this year?
Rather liked the new Planet Of The Apes movie.
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
38. Went to work. Made a cake. Saw a comedy show. Don't like to go into work but a day off wouldn't have been fun.
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
A nicer flat.
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2014?
Jeans and a shirt.
33. What kept you sane?
Blu-ray player and a TV with a USB slot.
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Scarlett Johansson perhaps... I really fell for her in "her".
35. What political issue stirred you the most?
Nothing specific. The general hypocrisy and media manipulation is something that winds me up a lot
36. Who did you miss?
My friends and family back home!
37. Who was the best new person you met?
chani_atreides also Natalie and Dylan have been awesome people to know.

I think so.

Sometimes you should just let things go!
