2020, Year in the rear view mirror

I've missed out on this for the past couple of years. Honestly, this is going to be a bit of a gloomy one because it's 2020

1. What did you do in 2020 that you'd never done before?

Built a shed. Went to an escape room.

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

Don't think I made any. I tend not to do new years resolutions.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Don't think so.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

Yes. Two very awesome people. Both of them were pretty young as well. Kinda sucks.

5. What countries did you visit

Wales.

6. What would you like to have in 2021 that you lacked in 2020?

Well, this one is obvious. The ability to actually go places and do stuff.

7. What dates from 2017 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

November 4th! When the US got rid of the idiot in chief. The voting was on the 3rd, but it wasn't obvious until the day after.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Seeing several shows before lockdown started.

9. What was your biggest failure?

Probably the hotel in Wales.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Nope. Been remarkably healthy, ironically.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

Drawing tablet. Possibly that SAD lamp but we'll see.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?

Anyone involved in healthcare.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

Trump again. Really upped the ante with the "I WON BY A LOT!" idiocy.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Technically stocks and shares... But it's still there earning a decent return.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

The holidays that never actually materialised in the end.

16. What song will always remind you of 2020?

Probably Imagine, because of that rather crummy celebrity version...

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Sadder. It's been a crappy year.
b) thinner or fatter?
Fatter. No exercise.
c) richer or poorer?
Richer. Pretty close to my goal where I can chuck in my job and start freelancing again.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

Exercise.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Wasting time on the internet.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

At home with Flickums

NowTV broadband.

There's still only one girl for me!

23. How many one-night stands?

None!

The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

Nope. Don't do hate.

Time and Time again by Ben Elton

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Don't think I discovered anything new.

Didn't really want a lot. I got plenty as presents and things.

A trip to America

30. What was your favourite film of this year?

Birds Of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn

31. What did you do on your birthday?

Went to Wales. Had a nice pub lunch.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Living in New Zealand. Or a government that was competent enough to deal with an epidemic.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2015?

Screw it! Not like I'm going anywhere.

34. What kept you sane?

Segregation of the mancave. Zoom for rpg.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Don't think there was anyone.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

Brexit! Specifically the losing freedom of movement part of it.

37. Who did you miss?

Pretty much everyone! I miss seeing friends who I usually manage to see a couple of times a year.. I miss the old RPG group.

38. Who was the best new person you met?

Bwaaahaaahaahaaa! Like I might have met someone new in 2020!

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2020:

The old cliche about living life to the fullest seems to ring true.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

I'm Living in a box
