Freedom feedom Freedom!!!

So, today I'm out of isolation. 11 days since first symptoms. Not that that allowed me to have breakfast in the breakfast room. The woman in charge insisted that I need a negative test. that's not the rules. But she also seemed to think that masks work when not over the nose so it wasn't worth arguing,

Anyway, went to get a nose poking done. Need that to travel home. After a somewhat anxious 10 hours it came back negative! There really wasn't any doubt, but I was still terrified.

11 days and a negative test means I'm free. So I went out and looked about.

First stop - Lego store. The bit one near the Rockefeller center. Decided I didn't want to queue. Went to the Natural History museum instead. Apparently it's timed tickets only so I booked a ticket while standing outside and joined the queue. Should probably have done the booking from the queue. Once I got inside it turned out nobody cared but at least I didn't have to do more queuing to buy the ticket.

Not sure how I feel about the place. It is rather large. Although a lot of the exhibits are models of animals, which aren't that interesting. There's a space section which is a little wordy but there are a lot of cool dino skeletons and fossils.

My feet were getting a bit tired so I went back to the Lego store and bought myself a Lego Taxi.  Had another look at the tree outside the Rockefeller center I think we looked from the wrong angle last time. It really looks spectacular in front of the tower. Then went to the WTC to celebrate freedom at Freedom Tower.  Was a bit worried that I wouldn't be able to get tickets this late. Well, I could but not at the general entry price. I went instead for the premium package which allowed queue skipping and a $15 voucher. Didn't have a lot of time up there. It was already 5:15pm and it closes at 6:00. But I got to see New York at night. $15 was spent on an overpriced coffee and chocolate brownie.

After getting kicked out, went to find food. My only real rule was I didn't want to eat in my room. So I went to the winter market and eventually settled on Chicken Tikka Masala. It was a very confused process where the vendor was offering free samples but not eager to actually actually take orders. But he did. And then I got the wrong order. Ah well. Was still tasty.

Finally returned to hotel.Had a dip in the pool and a cocktail at the bar.

My feet hurt like hell. I've done more walking today than for the past week and a bit!
