Decluttering
Rough count says I had about 50 boxes of assorted junk. I think I need to declutter. Ditching 5 boxes would be a minimum. Wondering if I can get that to 10, for a total reduction of about 20% of my crap.
Most of what stops me from ditching it is a combination of being a hoarder and indecisiveness.
I have a box of beano comic libraries I have no need for. Pluis a few boxes of SFX magazines. Seems a shame to get rid of them since I enjoyed them so much but I'm not gioing to reread them. Also a decent number of outdated computer books. So that's probably about 4 boxes worth. Wondering if I should dump these or whether there's a better home for them though. Also various knives; I really only need the 5 that sit in my knifeblock. Maybe a couple of extras but not the dozen or so spares I have. Still, always seems a shame to throw out perfectly servicable equipment. I have a spare kettle that I don't really need but I can't decide out whether to get rid of the big one, or the little one.
Seem to have a selection of toys, including a money box full of coins. Should probably take those to a bank. Also some super soakers. Will I want them in the summer? Can't decide. Also not sure if I want to hang on to the rocket packs, and some of the other costume stuff. Do I actually need two rocket packs? Perhaps I can justify getting rid of some of the clothes I never wear. I have several boxes of photos. Maybe I need to sort out the good ones and get some albums so I can shove them on a shelf. Keep the negatives, but they can be scanned. Should probably look into that.
A few bits and pieces are just taking up space. I have loads of cables, and don't really need most of them. I also have quite a few bits of obsolete tech, and while I want to hang on to a video recorder, my HD-DVD payer and my Amiga for nostalgia reasons (and because I have media for them), there's a load of stuff that isn't remotely useful. I have too many pots and pans. I need a steamer, 2 frying pans, 3 saucepans (two with lids), a chip pan, an egg poacher and some baking trays. Anything else I think I can get rid of. Also some surplus bowls.
Should probably have done this before moving...

Ditto SFX magazines.

having stuff means you have more stuff, and less room for people and thinking.
