On the 23rd, I was planning to get a new hard disk but PC World was rubbish, and so was my friendly local computer shop. I could have bought a Hitachi desktar but I'd prefer a disk with more of a reputation for reliability. The "DeathStar" range has a reputation... Just not a good one.

Decided to give up and drive to the parents'. I had to drop off presents first which involved going through Mitcham. This was not a pleasant experience. The traffic (of which I was part) is never pleasant in South London. Perhaps I should have walked. Driving through London is really really stressful. Moving at 8mph makes me wonder what the point of having a car is.

Ah well. I arrived home. My parents were pleased to see me. So was my brother. Always nice.

It was nice being back in Sussex. I saw an old friend. He's opened an English wine shop. Hadn't seen him for quite a while. Since I last saw him, he's got married, divorced, got a good job as an accountant, left that job, sold his Porsche, and set up his own business. Perhaps I should try to keep in touch a little more.

Later, I joined some other friends for Christmas Eve drinks. Brighton was virtually empty. Last year I could hardly move. Where was everyone?

And why are they all getting married and buying houses? I think they're getting old.

But I had an early night.

Didn't get round to putting a stocking up. Nor did I put out mince pies ans whisky for Father Christmas. Didn't seem to matter though.
