Left a bit later than I wanted to on Thursday. The Landlord seems to be being a bit pushy with my flatmate, so I thought I'd better read up on tenant rights while I had a web connection.

Fastest travel time I've managed. Only took just over an hour. I then did very little. Saw a friend on Friday. Went for a drive, went up to see Jack and Jill- famous windmills. My friend didn't know that windmills turn to face the wind. He assumed that they were simply pointed in the direction of the prevailing wind. That's the danger of a little knowledge. People who don't know about prevailing winds assume that all windmills rotate.

Saturday, I got a little confused. I was expecting dinner at 1:00ish since I was told that we'd have a large meal at 1:00ish. silly me. As it turned out, my brother had asked if some of his friends could come, or maybe my parents invited them. Hard to say since a friend of my brother is engaged to the friend of my parents. So, I decided to do some shopping and visit some friends. Bought the Once More With Feeling Buffy CD. Also played with a jetwash and cleaned my car. Finally found one. Didn't do a great job with it. I wasn't quite familiar with how they work, and wasn't quite sure whether there would be a high pressure spray after the foamy bit.

Called on a friend. He introduced me to the wonders of internet radio. Actually, I was already aware of it, but the only way Iknew to access it was vie Real player or Windows Media player, and I simply don't trust the motives of either of those companies. Fortunately this friend uses Linux exclusively, so now I know. Shoutcast seems reasonably good for finding them. Still not 100% sure about the wisdom of using a routed protocol like the interent for a broadcast medium like radio. Really this needs something a little more like peer to peer filesharing networks. But I digress. And I may do so. This is my journal, and I refuse to be polite just because you happen to be reading this.

Then it was time to eat.

Now then, My dad always does a huuuuge turkey dinner at Christmas. This year, he was still recovering from when he was in hospital, but he seemed to have that itchy cooking finger, so did the christmas meal at Easter. It was considerably less stressful than Christmas usually is. We'll have to do this at Easter more often.

Sunday - Saw Shanghai Knights. A funny silly film, but far too much of it seemed to be the Silly fights. Jackie Chan can be a lot cooler than that.

And do Americans really see England like that!?
