May. 31st, 2004 12:22 pmMy flatmate - Mike - is getting married. I've been invited, which is nice. Especially since it's in New York.
So, that probably means my summer holiday is covered. Still need to sort out what else to do while I'm there though. I suspect Mike will be busy doing his own stuff, so I'll have to look around myself. maode70 about this last week, and staying is hostels and finding people there sounds like it could work. I need work out other stuff though, like how long I should stay,
Actually, I've not updated that much. I've developed a hectic social life again. Last week it was the somethingorotherth London TCZ Mudmeet. Then met up with maode70 for dinner. This resulted in lots of alcohol. Beer at the pub, then wine with dinner. Then we were moved to a nearby table which was not a remote inconvenience at all, so we were offered some free brandy to make up for the inconvenience. It was fun... And someone - not sure if it was the waiter or a customer - had the worlds weirdest laugh. It sounded like a sea lion! And he laughed a lot. Actually, it probably was the waiter. He looked a little like a sea lion. Perhaps I could have thrown a ball at him to see if he did tricks.
This week it was my ex-flatmate's birthday party. This meant going up to bristol, and getting stuck behind in lots of queues on the M4 caused by Crystal Palace and West Ham fans (seemed to be mostly Palace actually. Where were the West Ham fans?) And lots of stretch limos. And that was that. Food at the party was good. On the way back, I visited my brother. My brother is now almost a famous rock star, but only at weekends. At least, he's in a band, played a gig at a local pub, and they went down well. And he seems to have got into the habit of injuring his fingers. Who needs them for playing a guitar though?
Wandsworth council are still being a pain. They sent me a letter asking that I repay some of the money they overpaid. I've just gone through my accounts, and by my reckoning, they owe me £98.96.
I've now been paid. It's time to buy some DVDs. I just can't decide what to get. There's a lot I want that I've already seen, but may want to inflict on others. So, Maharomatic? Firefly? Some other funky anime stuff? Something else entirely? Choices choices choices.
