Mar. 4th, 2006 12:57 pmB&B7 last night where I met up with lots of people. And
blazingskies was down from Sheffield after making a sudden decision to come down, and wanted to spend a little more time after closing time so we went to Wetherspoons where there is a later licence (and more choice). So that was nice. Didn't drink quite as much as I normally do because I've been drinking a lot this week and I felt sorry for my liver. I do try to treat my internal organs with respect. Wouldn't want them going on strike on me.
I'm not sure I'm totally convinced by the Cittie of Yorke as a venue. On the plus side, we can get a reasonably sized table on a Friday, and eventually commandeer the rest of the downstairs. On the double plus good side, it's non smoking. But I'm not all that fond of the food. The chips aren't that good, and I really felt like a mixed grill or a steak or something. Perhaps I'll try something that isn't served with chips next time.
Eastercon booked at last. Badgename of 'Squigs' for reasons that are lost in time. Hopefully more fun than last time. Felt that was a bit of a let down. If it doesn't work, I'll either spend the entire time lurking in the bar or looking for challengers to play Settlers or something in the games room. I think I'll have to grab a few games of my own.
There are a number of people who read this who live in the Glasgow area (that number being 1). Are you going?
