Mar. 12th, 2006 02:14 pmFresh and Wild was unusually crap.
Normally I like the place. They have a good selection of chocolate. But I went for some veg. Hardly anything was locally produced apart from leeks and Brocolli. Surely more vegetables than that must be in season. Local production is much more important to me than organic. It affects the flavour much more.
So I bought whatever looked appealing, then went to the chocolate section to try and find some Montezuma's Omacatl drinking chocolate. (Uno or Dos. Dos has this lovely nutmeg rice puddingy flavour). The guy serving didn't have a clue what I was talking about when I tried to explain the concept of drinking chocolate. He eventually found the right section, but they only had Green and Black's. I don't want that. That's a chocolate powder, and I already have some. Omacatl is crumbled up chocolate!
I really do need to move to Brighton. Montezumas have their own outlet there.
