Twitch

Finally got round to installing WinUAE. I could, of course just dust of my Amiga but that would be too easy. And it would require me to dig out some games.

The Amiga had some really cool games. I'm tempted to get myself a digital joystick just to play them. None of my other games have this twitch value. Turrican had it. Doom had it. I really wanted to go back and have another go. And another, and another.

Maybe I've just been playing the wrong games, but nothing I play quite has this feeling. It's all a lot slower and more cerebral. There's time to stop and think than a need to run and dodge, and do a death defying leap, getting the timing just right so that you don't fall down a pit and don't get killed by a gribbly monster. That was fun.

I'm just a luddite aren't I?
