Doctor Who
Jun. 10th, 2007 12:20 amWell, that wasn't too bad.
Actually, it was absolutely fantastic. I was a bit worried when I saw that Steven Moffat was relegated to the Doctor Lite episode this season. Shouldn't have worried at all. This is actually what makes a really great episode. Eliminate the Doctor. The problem is, a super intelligent physiologically robust and occasionaly death proof superman does tend to mean that we feel quite safe. The Doctor will save the day. In the early days, they'd separate the Doctor from the companions, and disrupt this feeling of comfort.
The characters in this episode had practically no contact with the doctor. And we hadn't even seen them before. There was every possibility they could die, or at least be sent back to the distance past. Throw in some fun stuff about the oddness of quantum physics and cause and effect issues with time travel and you end up with a fantastic episode.
