NotYetNano stuckness

After a month I have roughly 8000 words and no idea how to get from one scene to the next.
For plot reasons I've sent my wizard to a temple to get him away from the city for a few days. A few things happen on the way, and that all works pretty well. I just have no idea why he should head off. He's not quite a hero yet. A few people have probably noticed he's quite resourceful but that's about it.
Will really have to do better for Nano. Ah well. Can pad that out with detailed descriptions of Bristol landmarks. Can any of you Bristol types recommend a good area for parkour?
