Gah!  Trying to write a killer covering letter.

Addressing every single point in the requirements just doesn't look all that convincing.  Everyone's going to be doing that anyway.  There has to be something I can say that will make them think that this is the perfect guy for the job.

So, that contract didn't go according to plan...

I have had vague interest from an agent over another contract, and there doesn't seem to have been a lot of movement in that one.

No response over the others.  I will chase them up tomorrow.

And an actual interview for a permanent job.

That will potentially leave me in a quandary.  I don't have enough of a war chest to wait out a potential long gap between contracts.  I was sort of relying on the EA gig to last long enough to build up some worthwhile savings so that I could spend a bit of time looking/training before abandoning the whole idea and getting a permie job.

I actually was quite taken with the idea of being a contractor.  There's a lot going for it.  You just need the resources to weather the storms.

And it would  help if I had any idea what was actually invovled with jobs that wanted C# or Embedded C or SQL, or even Python for that matter.  I reckon I could probably do most of them.  I just really don't want to get a nasty shock when I discover there's more to it than I thought.
