A checklist for things to take on holiday.
4 weeks worth of clothes. A selection of books, DVD player, travel adaptors, spare shoes, several costumes for convention, holiday money, washbag, mp3 player, laptop, kitchen sink... Maybe I need to be a little more frugal with what I take.
So, clothes - 10 changes should do me.
Some smart-ish clothes.
Holiday money.
I will want a laptop. Not only is it useful for keeping in touch, but it's a handy power adaptor.
Must remember the power adaptor for laptop.
And plug adaptors. I think these universal ones work in Australia.
Phobile moan. I'll be using an Australian SIM though.
MP3 player.
I can probably manage the Captain Jack costume. I am nominally going for a convention after all. Captain Jack is lightweight and also comes with a decent raincoat. I gather Melbourne isn't totally dry at this time of year. So that's
One book. I'll easily finish it by the end of the holiday but I'll restock at the convention. I'm sure there's going to be some possibility of getting a book or two at a Worldcon.
Plus a guidebook.
Oh yeah. Passport.
And hotel details.
And insurance details, credit card contact numbers and stuff, just in case.
Maybe I should take my driving licence as well. Someone mentioned a hire car is a cheap option. Other people say it's not... Not exactly heavy though.
Also...
Camera, charger, batteries.
Need to find out if there's a pre-con pub crawl since Steve isn't going to be there.
Yeah. That Australain SIM. When I was in Ireland, lots of people texted me on my birthday and I had to pay the roaming charge for every single one of them.
