Sep. 29th, 2010 09:56 pmSo, back in Cheltenham, and I really can't be bothered.
The first night back here was great. I could justify splashing out on 4 stars worth of guesthouse. If I'm staying a whole week that sort of thing starts to add up. So I booked a cheaper place for this week and am looking for somewhere that will take on a lodger, on a Sunday Night-Friday basis, until the end of the year.
I'm being a lot more choosy this time round.
I want access to the living room and I want to not be on the wrong side of Cheltenham. Also want broadband internet access, a desk, and to be left alone. Want to share with non-sporty people. Preferably more than one other person. This doesn't make it that hard either.
The problem is simply that nobody is ever in. I want them to answer their phone. Or respond to email or to me expressed interest. And when I finally do manage to contact them, I want them to be available for me to actually see the room. I only need 10 minutes.
On the plus side, the place I'm staying in is essentially an overflow from the guesthouse I stayed in on Sunday night. Sunday's guesthouse was pleasant enough but felt very lonely and the heating wasn't on. The overflow seems to be a friend's place with a spare room. This has en suite, and a lovely lady living here, with a noisy budgie. I can stay here another week.
