So, as my contract comes to a close, I've been put forward for another contract.
I do seem to be a perfect fit for it. Qt, touchscreen, UI development stuff. There's also the opportunity to work from home (really ought to get myself one of those).
That puts me in a bit of a dilemma. It still seems like bad policy to turn down work. Maybe if I had a year's actual salary in the bank, I'd feel safer doing so, but this does look like a promising contract, and a good fit for my skills. And I do want as hefty a deposit for a house as I can manage.
Plus I actually like doing C++ frontend work, and entering a project on the ground floor.
I was just looking forward to a break! And to having some time to consider what I actually want to do.
Ah well. Who knows what will happen? I might not even get this contract. Other people can do this as well.
