Well, that was fraught...

We had an initial idea for completion date. Surveyor visit was a lot later than hoped. Then it took ages to get the homebuyer's report. Then it took even longer for Nationwide to sort out a revised mortgage offer (no idea why it took 2 weeks!). And lots of other things went wrong just to add to the stress. Essential paperwork didn't arrive until the morning. And Special Delivery didn't live up to their guarantee of next day delivery.
Ended up completing and exchanging on the same day, which is not ideal, but c'est la vie.

Repeated harassment from estate agent didn't help. Got a bit annoyed with everyone especially when they threatened to pull out (we called their bluff, and they backed down).

But we did exchange and complete. Picking up keys today. I should have picked them up yesterday but moving out was taking time so I gave the vendor some extra time.

Now we need to pack.

And buy furniture. And white goods. I think once we have a dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer, we're all set.

Well, then we need to get some repairs and stuff done.

And need to decide what broadband service we want.  Virgin media is pretty god but pricey.

But the essential hard work is done!

And now I can breathe!
