luckykaa: (steamy)
We heard word, on the telegraphic web, of a steampunk market. So, I and my beloved Miss [personal profile] flickums boarded the motorised carriage, and absconded with haste towards the indiustrial behemoth Leeds.

The entrance included a visit to the museum of the technological wonders of the steam age. And we saw that traders had set up their market stall along the corridors of the venue. My darling was kind enough to purchase for me a hot cherry wine from a cheeky chappy. I was sufficiently impressed that I purchased an entire bottle. Many other stands. I was tempted by a long leather coat, giving the appearance of a character from Assassin's Creed, but felt the utility might be limited. But we did find some fine chocolate delicacies. I bought a set of cogs. Miss Flickums was taken by a Millennium Falcon. There was a large chocolate model of the vessel, apparently weighing over two pounds. I felt that Miss Flickums looked particularly dapper with a red hat, especially when paired with goggles and feathers, so I insisted on buying her one.

We also saw some of the exhibits. There was a demonstration of a working steam engine, and a cinema showing some of the latest Keystone Cops shows.

We then went to the tearoom. They used genuine cups rather than these futuristic plastic versions that seem to be so popular these days. I had tea and cake. Miss Flickums bought a Pepsin based soda. We also enjoyed a jolly light strategy game based on Star Wars. Model airships attacking a Etheric Stabiliser.

I need to do the Steampunk thing more often. I like dressing up.
