Nano Nanowrimo No, no, there's no limit.
Sep. 26th, 2018 12:42 pmIt's getting to November again.
Wondering if I want to try Nanowrimo again this year. I might go for writing an actual story. The difference this year is I actually have time to plan the damn thing.
I do enjoy it. It's nice to go to the weekly meetups where I drink coffee and exchange ideas.
The downside is I can't decide what I want to write. I want a story with a beginning a middle and an end. I used to have so many ideas that they were just fighting to escape. For some reason I don't have any. I think it's a paradox whereby to be creative I need to be creative.
What do I want to do? I want to avoid humour. I find that just gets stressful. I need to provide a solid motivation for my characters. I need characters. Maybe I should try fantasy. Maybe I should try a version of Harry Potter where the rules actually have some sort of consistency and restrictions. Or perhaps steampunk, since I still have a fairly fleshed out world for that. Maybe a 1920's mystery, or a time loop story. Perhaps a 1980's cyberpunk story. I just need something fresh!
