Birthday the 43rd!
Sep. 2nd, 2019 08:11 pm Drunken blogging is best blogging!
So, Flickums bought cruise tickets!
We got up early in the morning, good on a bus, and then a boat. The boat zipped around the island and eventually reached our destination. The very pirate sounding "shipwreck cove". So called because it's a cove, and there's a shipwreck there. Apparently a ship that was smuggling cigarettes for the Italian mafia in 1980. It is now very rusty. It's possible to see through the holes into the engine room.
Unfortunately, like all the other popular tourist attractions, it attracts a lot of tourists. The place was packed with boats of all sizes, each with its own contingent of visitors. Still, wasn't terrible. And the cove is nice! The beach is hard on the feet though.
We went on and stopped for a swim break by the caves. Fantastic. Although I lack swimming confidence, so while I was happy take a dip, I didn't want to swim too far.
Went back to Argassi for crepes, and chilled in hotel for a while before heading to a restaurant that Flickums choose. The starter was very good. The main course was incredible! Possibly the nicest meal I've ever had. I did the Meg Ryan thing while eating it! Neck of pork with a dried tomato crust.
Mentioned to the waiter that it was my birthday. When desert came, it had a candle in it. That waiter got a decent tip.
Other birthday stuff - opened presents. I now have a massive number of miniature animals for the tabletop version of Winter in The Willlows I have a hankering to run. Also a Lego Batmobile, more T-shirts, more Star Trek, and Winter in the Willows - sequel to Wind in the Willows.
