Interview trickiness

luckykaaMicrosoft want to interview me for a fixed term contract.
Trouble is they want to do this as soon as possible. I'm working at the moment and this company wants me here! Plus I'm not really sure I want to sacrifice half a day's pay for just the possibility of a job.
The agent or Microsoft's recruitment people don't seem to understand this. Having established that I can't take time off work for an interview, they're offering an "early morning interview". Well, it will have to be early...
Edit: I don't need to work on Monday. have suggested an afternoon interview.
