Been way too gloomy recently.  Need a positive mindset.  Hence retrying this meme.

1. Post about something that made you happy today, even if it’s just a small thing.
2. Do this every day for a week without fail.
3. This did say tag 11 friends, but I'll change it and tag all of you.

Bought a new hat and a pinboard and a shirt and have a tidy flat.

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.

"Next, heat the oil in a 7 inch (18cm) frying pan and fry the onion for 5 minutes before adding the pepper, tomatoes, garlic, oregano and tomato puree.  Continue to cook the sauce over a medium heat for about 10 minutes.

"Towards the end of the cooking time boil the pasta for 8 minutes.   Meanwhile finish off the sauce by adding the anchovies, capers and olives and keep the heat low until the pasta is ready."

Political Spectrum Quiz

Actually I'm not sure this is right. I'm actually fairly right wing in terms of capitalism and the free market but I didn't really agree with the points presented.

Let's try http://politicalsurvey2005.com/ This is based on British politics and is probably a little closer to my view.

Pancakes!

I really like pancakes.  They're tasty, and they're really good fun to make!  Something about beating the batter and gettting a nice hot frying pan where the butter sizzles and pouring out just enough batter and flipping the pancakes to end up with such a fine and tasty dish.

Got new card game at last!  W00h00! Sunday delivery FTW!

Actually yesterday was made of win.

Finally got my parents' computer issues fixed.  Their printer wasn't working.  I deleted the printer drivers and it now works.  (I did have a rationale behind doing this but expected to actually have to reinstall or something).  Upgraded their RAM.  Actually wanted to use an old DIMM from my computer but it turns out DDR and DDR2 aren't remotely compatible.  Won't even fit the slot.  Decided to ransack a PC my mum had picked up for free from work and liberated a DIMM from there.

Geeked with [livejournal.com profile] flannelcat about proposed steamy LARP.  Lots of cool ideas bouncing around many of which I'm sure won't make it to the final cut but can be saved for later.  Funky ideas involving SCIENCE! (as opposed to science) which should really work well.

Met a pile of [livejournal.com profile] flannelcat and [livejournal.com profile] penguin_worship's friends at t'pub.  They was luvly!  Wish I could have spent more time with them.  Felt a need to return home.

Not sure about the personality analysis but definitely a style of art I like.

Your result for What Your Taste in Art Says About You Test...

Extroverted, Progressive, and Intelligent

13 Cubist, 4 Islamic, 1 Ukiyo-e, -19 Impressionist, -3 Abstract and -13 Renaissance!

Cubism was a 20th century avant-garde movement, pioneered by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. It revolutionized European art and inspired changes in music and literature. The first branch of cubism, known as Analytic Cubism. It was both radical and influential as a short but highly significant art movement between 1908 and 1911 mainly in France. In its second phase, Synthetic Cubism, (using synthetic materials in the art) the movement spread and remained vital until around 1919.

People that chose Cubist paintings as their favorite art form tend to be very individualized people. They are more extroverted and less afraid of speaking their opinions then other people. They tend to be progressive and are very forward thinking. As the cubist painting is like looking into a shattered mirror where you can see different angles of the images, the people that prefer these paintings like looking at all angles of a problem. These people are intelligent and they are the transformers of our generation. They look beyond what is seen into what things could become. They are ready to leave the ideas of the past behind and look at what the future has to offer.
