Sweden to abolish use of oil by 2020.
This appeals to the environmentalist in me, bus something about it makes Sweden look irritatingly smugly superior. Coincidentally, 2020 is when a lot of people guess we'll reach peak oil production.
Not quite sure what the exact definition of oil is. Presumably this is just going to be stop using fossil based oil, since biodiesel is carbon neutral and is more convenient than other ways of running cars. While I'm sure they want to encourage mass transit, that can't work for every traveller, surely. And while electricity is good for a lot of uses, it's always been expensive to store.

Dammit, why does Sweden have to be so cold? If it wasn't for the 6 month arse deep snow I'd be over there like a shot...
