Yay! That was fun!

Found Imperial College. Union. Signed in. We had to join a house. Choices were Galactica, Serenity or Enterprise. After umming and ahhing, decided to join Serenity. Didn't realise it was original Enterprise. I would have joined the underdogs.

So we could get points for providing or proving certain things. Toasters scored points for Galactica. Apples and toy dinosaurs scored points for Serentity and so on. Sadly my working tricorder didn't get anything.

Bar was good. Imperial College Students Union has real ale and real cider and even real perry. All good cinventions can be measured by the time spent in the bar. Discussed other cons. Sci-fi fans have been known to drink breweries dry. Not surprising. Conventioning is thirsty work.

Crappy merchandise acquired - One game of nano-fictionary, and one picocon T-shirt.

Talks were interesting but a bit too talky. Too lectury. I prefer a little more tooing and froing with the audience.

Charity auction was fun. People bid for the right to destroy crappy merchandise with hammers and boltcutters. Nobody likes poor JarJar.

Then there was a competition. Just a minute, Charades, and Mornington Crescent.

And there was apparently "not a fish duel" which involved a fight between representatives of different universities with fish. Real fish.

Ended with a Quiz. Last place team scored 2 points. This was pretty impressively bad since they scored lower than "The Fantastic Four" who weren't even Sci-fi fans and just happened to be sitting in the same bar. We came third. Not a bad showing.

In the end, it seemed Galactica was about to win on housepoints, but Dumbledore decided to hand out some exta points to Griffindor, so they won.
