US Politics
So, there's a grass roots campaign for Bill Gates as President. (Pre-empted by Scott Adams, but allegedly a coincidence) Not sure exactly what Bill thinks about this yet. But it could work. I'm not quite sure I agree with his stance on copyright, but that's more of an area that Congress eals with. And on the plus side, he's deomnstrated that he's a philanthropist, seems to believe that it is possible to have enough money (he was even in favour of inheritance tax), and would be completely unbribable. And he's rather well known.
Torchwood.
This week's episode was fun, but it all seems a bit childish. Doctor Who for teenagers perhaps? It's very much more behind the bike sheds with a sneeky fag than grown up. The main problem is that it's not Doctor Who. Doctor Who can do all sorts of things wrong, and it does! But it gets away with it because it has charm. Little things like daft stories and plot holes don't seem to matter, and pointing them out seems unsporting. Torchwood doesn't have the charm.
And they're all still incompetent. I'm sure L.I.N.D.A. would do a much better job. They were incompetent and directionless as well, but at least they managed to work pretty well as a team, without all the teenage jealousy.

Wasn't this show actually funny a couple of years ago?
