At least according to a web poll by SFX.  That was heavily pimped on several firefly boards.

And there were only 10 options in the first place...

I mean I enjoyed the film, but I'm not sure it would get anywhere near my top 10.  The Matrix, Fifth Element, Blade Runner, Dark City, Forbidden Planet, Star Wars, Star Trek 2, Aliens, Twelve Mokeys, and Galaxy Quest all rank higher for me.

I'm surprised this story has managed to get as much publicity as it had.  Presumably it's been a bit of a slow week for news.

lolz, Joss Whedon is a better director and writer than Cameron, Scott, Linklater, The Wachowskis and even Fincher. Better than Lynch?

Rabid fandom in effect, for sure.

Personally I perfered Serenity to most of the films you list there & it comes in about equal with the others... A lot of that is probably bias from loving the series & the characters so much but hey :)

As for the "best" film, I'm not sure on what grounds that would be judged... Unique storylines? Believable characters? Special effects? Camera work? Morals?... It's a tricky one really...

I love lots of films for different reasons & often depending on my mood. There are some briliant films I'm not keen on because they just don't grab me.... & I'm sure I'm not the only one... or am I?... maybe I just have low standards! lol
