There's going to be a Comic Book panel at the Brighton Festival.

Even if you don't want to come down, I'd encourage everyone to take a look at the festival.  It's pretty cool.

And happy birthday to [profile] gaspodex and [profile] tinkerbell1980

In other news, I have a shiny new Brighton icon.

Interesting - shall mention to Julian.
Also help me decide on the VM con I couldn't decide on. I think this might be more interesting for both of us!

Hi there.

This isn't random comment-spamming, honestly.

I was told by [livejournal.com profile] the_ladylark to come and say hello, and I generally do as she says, because she's small and a bit scary. Unless I really don't want to do whatever it is she wants me to, in which case I generally ignore her.

I'm her Brighton ex-housemate and was reliably informed that you're insearch of like-minded Brighton geeks. I'm one of those. Hello!

Ah yes. That was in response to my "Nobody loves me" post:) Been here a year, and not really got any local friends. [livejournal.com profile] the_ladylark says you're geeky and you like Doctor Who, so I think we could be friends.

So, Hello!

Fancy a drink?

I do indeed like Doctor Who, along with pretty much every other SF or fantasy tv or movie you could name and I have a large standing order at Dave's Comics, where I'm greeted by name. How's that for geeky?

A drink sounds eminently doable.

Cool. Whereabouts do you live and work? We can meet up after work.

I live right over in West West Hove (also known as Portslade) but work right by the station, in amongst all the pubs. I'm tied up every night this week, but how about monday after work? Where abouts do you work?

Monday works for me.

I work in fairly central Brighton, a couple of minutes from the station.

So now it's just the complex task of working out where and when. Portslade (which I don't knowat all) or Brighton? Do you drink? Or would you prefer tea or coffee or maybe something more of an activity?

In town after work would be fairly convenient, I think.

Do I drink? Does the Pope shit in the woods? I'm happy with a pint, a drop of rum, a good coffee or a cuppa. The Evening Star by the station does good Sussex beer and shouldn't be too busy on a monday, or there are a variety of cafes scattered through North Laine. My favourite coffee shop is unfortunately all the way down on St James Street.

Excellent. The Evening Star is one of my favourites! There's not a lot of really good Cider in Brighton.

So, Monday at whenever you finish + train journey time:) I'm fairlyflexible with working times. Usually I finish at 5 or so.

I don't drink cider, but the Dark Star Original is a rather nice bitter.

My office is pretty much opposite the pub, so I can be there for 5.30.

Works for me.

How do we recognise each other? I would provide a photo but I'm not sure if I have one where I'm not dressed as a cat or something;)

Well, now I'm scared.

My cat would approve, I'm sure.

So have I found your weirdness threshold?

In my defence this was at a fancy dress party where I dressed as Puss in Boots from Shrek.

Oh, trust me, that's nowhere near my weirdness threshold.

I guess now is not the time to mention that I found myself disturbingly attracted to Puss in Shrek. I think it was Banderas' performance that did it - he even makes a CG cat sexy. Shutting up now.

Oh. You just like being scared. With you:)

Still not quite sure how to recognise each other. If you want to continue this by email, my email address is on my profile page, I think.

Will transfer to email.

Hey. Sorry, had a computer-free weekend.

Fortunately the Evening Star isn't big, but I have shoulder length curly brown hair and am wearing an olive green cardi - think that'll be enough to spot me by?

Should be.

I'll be wearing a shiny black shirt and black trousers and black & white converse boots.

I'm in a black mood today:)

I used to wear a lot of black (my goth phase while at uni), but then I discovered colour *g*
