Not sure I really needed to get that sorted out this early, but it's useful to get out of the way.  And it means nearly all of my pre-Worldcon preparations are now sorted. 

Just need to get to the airport.

And I feel a desire to do some costuming...  But I have no idea what still.  Indecisiveness is a problem.  Having to borrow a sewing machine is another problem.

Or just do the standard visit and borrow one trick, also allowing you access to patterns and ideas :)

while we're on the subject, do you know of any decent fabric shops in the Basingstoke area or not too far out of it? My friend who lives there is not satisfied with fabricland...

Not in the Basingstoke area - but if they're prepared to travel further, "Tatters" in Staines or Kingston are pretty good!

I considered it but all the recognisable costume ideas seem to be characters who are a bit too up themselves.
