More detailled summary of the weekend....

Hey, it's raining. This means I get to wear my Captain Jack coat! Yay!
I eventually got up to Woking after being kept late at work because we've gone to headless chicken mode. and chatted to
lemming_man and
tictactoepony while people who managed to arrive in time played games.
Watched videos. I put on George Lucas in Love. The Lemming responded with Dara O'Brien on Tough Gig, Which was grat. He had to do a routine for a group of LARPers and spent most of the show being highly bemused by the whole LARP concept.
Saturday was the Serenity Charity Screening. We decided to dress up for it. As did one other person, who had a very good Mal Reynolds costume. Went to the pub. Chatted to people. Lemming man gave out some grenades. I ate people's food. Tictactoe's brother decided to give a visiting Spanish girl a tour of London.
Sunday, didn't go to a Medieaval Fair with jousting and stuff. It looked like it might be fun, but the weather looked unpromising so we went shopping. And didn't really acquire much. Shame really. Would have been nice to go and see people in armour knocking each other off their horses. There's a similar event in Bristol next month. Anyone interested?

Date: 2007-06-25 02:33 pm (UTC)If you go to a Mediaeval Fair with jousters, make sure it has the Royal Armouries joust team. Most jousters are bad actors with a lot of hype; the RA guys are for real. I once went to one near Bristol where they had the Royal Armouries team and another group, and the RA guys made the others look laughably bad.

And I know most of these events have the authenticity of World Wresting Federation, but it's still fun.
