Weddingcon 2012

omylouse and lemming_man are now one.  Bound in holy matrimony. 

Lovely service.  Several geek references a speech from an impressive clergyman.  Cake of awesomeness It had a dragon.  Dragons make everything 137% more awesome).  And omylouse looked lovely, lemming_man looked dashing.

Had a wonderful time co-best-manning at a wedding.  After the stag do is stag done, responsibilities are fairly minor.  Other best man had to remember the ring.  There were various ceremonial bits and pieces to do, all of which is written down or explained in detail in advance.  Plus the small task of making sure the groom eats and doesn't run away.

Met omylouse's godfather at breakfast.  An absolutely lovely physicist very interested in technology. Could science geek with him forever.  Hotel was gorgeous.  Very comfortable and breakfast selection included lovely things like eggs Florentine, Royale, and Benedict, Full English (veggie and carnivore).  Also met rest of clam omylouse. 

So, I had to witness the wedding (apparently the unimportant legal part), do a reading, and a bit for the handfasting, and be photographed several times.  Then give a speech - This was optional; other Best Man had the bulk of speeching to do, but I wanted to offer my wishes - then got nervous because other best man was getting lots of laughs.  But mine seemed pretty good.  At least everyone congratulated me on my speech (will tell people what I said if they really want to know).  This made me very happy. 

I really am happy for the two of them.  They are made for each other.  The ceremony , including Saffron's wedding music, a speech form Princess Bride, a flask of purest green, readings from Dougkas Adams and Ogden Nash illustrates the geek bond. I love them both and hope they live long and prosper.
