First class ticket to Brussels
Feb. 23rd, 2019 08:48 amWe missed the Christmas Markets for various reasons. But we like trips to Belgium.
We also both caught a cold. But were damned if we're going to let that ruin our fun!
So we booked 2 first class tickets to London, to get pampered by Virgin trains. Then we joined the wrong queue (non-UK/EU) so took a while to get through passport control. We arrived at a very packed Eurostar terminal, since previous train to France was cancelled. Our train was delayed too but only by a bit.
Still, only took about 10-15 minutes to get through. Eurostar really is the nicest way to get to Belgium.
Checked into the hotel. They had elevator music! Why!? They also had some half-decorated corridors.
Did remarkably little once there. Time was fleeting. The delay plus an extra hour timezone change meant that there was enough time for our pilgrimage to the cheesecake cafe.
