So, following [profile] tigerpixie 's low-carb lunch advice, today's lunch was a "no-bread sandwich" from Pret. Or "a salad" as they used to be known.
Oddly they don't seem to offer a discount for leaving the bread out.

I'll see how well this works from an energy point of view.

Had lots of nice ideas for coffee making.  Thanks everyone. 

I had a hankering for a text adventure. Pick up the phone booth and die was surprisingly rewarding. The sequel is a lot harder in that it requires a different solution.

Just remember - snack on fruit. And have something like porrige for breakfast to keep you full until lunch. Add fruit to that too, if you like. If porride is too hot for this time of year, eat an oat based cereal instead of a wheat-based one (gluten can make the stodgy feeling).

Well, I'm a morning person anyway, it's afternoons that are the problem. Have no trouble getting up to speed at 8:30, but I decided to try fruit as morning breakfast anyway.

I shall try fruit for breakfast and salads for lunch for a week and let you know how I get on. Carbs can wait for dinner.
