So, why is there no LJ community for geeks in Brighton? It's not like the city is short of them.
I'll have to create one. What shall I call it? Brighton_Geeks? or is there something more imaginative I could go for?
Okay. I have now created brighton_geeks, and already, somebody (i.e. me) is using it to pimp an event. For idly chatting and for promoting things. General geekery. For chat about anything really.
No idea if it's going to be a success. So far it has 1 member.
I'd go with the unimaginative, that way people can tell what it is nice and easily, and it should be easy to search for.
If you want to create a community you'll probably have to be responsible for it too. Remember to take it for lots of walks as well as feeding and cleaning it.
On a more practical note you might want to work out what the community is for. Should Brighton geeks be idly chatting there, or is it for announcement of geek events in the brighton area, what about people advertising in the group etc etc.
