Settlers of Catan (again)

So, seemed nobody local was interested in boardgaming. 

Was it just that everyone was busy that day (Day 1 of NanoWriMo may have been a mistake), or is nobody is interested at all?  Just wondering whether to try again.

There's where my problem is. I have lots of friends all over the place. not so many local ones. I want some who are less than a bus ride away from me.
