luckykaaKinda fun. wish i was feeling in a more cheerful mood so I could have enjoyed it more.
Also maybe I should have gone to more pubs but the student bar was so much more appealing.
So, anyway - we have guest talks. I went to a couple of them. Paul Cornell spent his time accidentally insulting everyone there.
Destruction of Dodgy merchandise didn't seem quite as dodgy as previous years. There's a lot to be said for the poor balance of the game of Quidditch but there's no reason to take it out on the merchandise. Although they did what it with a golf club so they're redeemed. A Transformers Darth Vader Tie Fighter is cool! A Star Wars Bath set is actually pretty lame but they destroyed classic merchandise! 1985 was a more innocent time. However, the obscure character played by someone now quite well known action figure deserved to be destroyed...
Silly games included Just a Minute and Mornington Crescent - apparently, despite being closed, the Victoria Line was in play to allow people to get home. An illogical exception to the rule since Victoria most Victoria line stops are intersections. Just allowing the national rail exemption waiver on the mainlines connected to Victoria would have solved that problem perfectly.
Edit: As always, the majority of events in no way included fighting with fish. By a staggering coincidence, the one event that did not explicitly state an absence of fish fighting had a fish fight. Will have to post pics later.
Quiz was hard. Always is. Turns out they were wrong on their QL question. The question was "Who is the only person Sam has leaped into twice?" He's leapt into Jimmy La Motta in "Jimmy" and "Evil Leaper part 1", Sam Becket in the "Leap Home part 1", and "Mirror Image", and Al Calavicci in "A Leap fort Lisa", and "The Leap Back".
Now, who are the 6 classic Who villains who have made a return?
We then went for food. Didn't want Thai. I held out for anything but Thai food. Indian Curry was good.
