Being Human

So we have a control freak werewolf, a recovering bloodaholic vampire, and an agoraphobic ghost. I do find myself trying to assign characters to people I know. Liked the comment about Hufflepuff playing with safety scissors and glitter all day.

I want a ghost to live with me and obsessively make me tea all day.

Babylon 5 Season 5

I somehow remember this being a lot worse than it is. There's plenty of intrigue, some character destruction, and a couple of imaginative episodes such as "The corps is Mother, the corps is Father". The Interstellar Alliance is nicely still not the Federation. All the member races are in it mainly for themselves, so will do things that are not the right thing to do.

Season 5 wasn't bad - It however started slowly after the rollercoaster that was season 4.

Fickle that they are people moaned - By the time you get to the second half of the season its pretty good in fact ...

One of the reason shows are best watched in blocks is that story arcs gel better..

I found the same thing - much better the second time around than I remembered, and nowhere near as bad as a lot of people were saying - mostly because you know the good stuff like The Fall of Centauri Prime is still to come.

Although in my case, it was also because this time I knew Byron wasn't a permanent fixture. I vaguely remember cheering when the flames started...

Now, the challenge is to rewatch Crusade with an open mind - again, it's a lot better than I remembered. I found myself regretting it getting cut off so soon.

Seconded on both season 5 and Crusade - re-watching them on DVD, they were both an awful lot better than I remembered. Sleeping In Light still brough tears to my eyes too!

Yes, that was ace! Although most of my friends choose Slytherin? Do you know if there will be more Being Human, or if it was a one-shot, or if it was a pilot? I couldn't work it out...

Apparently BBC3 commissioned a number of one-shots to serve as pilots. So a bit of both. It's a little more experimental than a typical pilot so most of the shows they showed won't be making it to a series, but there's no reason that this one shouldn't.

Encouraging re Series 5 (just about to start that), though I'm not sure at the moment if this means "it'll be better than you might expect", or if I am therefore obligedto watch it more than once before I start appreciating it... o.o

Well, I think part of the problem was the plot occasionally moved too slowly. As long as you don't leave a week between each episode you'll be fine.
