My watch strap broke.  Went into Timpson.  They had no Casio straps but could put on a leather strap for £7.99.  The  other branch didn't have any in stock but could order one for £12.99.

Alternatively I could buy a replacement watch for £7.79.

(Or buy a non-official strap from ebay for £2.99 and fit it myself).

So if I wanted a watch without a strap, would they pay me £5.20 to take it away?

Indeed. It was certainly the case that a replace screen for a laptop used to cost more than buying a second-hand identical laptop (but working!), and it cost me £35 to get a replacement glass plate for the microwave for the flat I was renting many years ago ...

... Casio do (or at least did) sell the straps direct. I ended up buying two for my CA90 and three for my CMD40B (infra-red remote controller!) over many years ... in those days you had to post them a cheque ... how quaint!

Go for ebay if it's good quality & right size.

I ended up using one of those WWJD style straps (I forget what it actually said though) as a casio fits neatly onto it :)

Maybe you should write to their head office and enquire? You never know what might happen.

I really hate shopping in Brighton for anything basic/useful. I realised a while back i could make a killing if I could carry things back from Nottingham and sell them on!
