So, after trapeze I went to the pub. Met some people I know. Discovered [livejournal.com profile] eglantinedreams seems to know someone else I knew. Chatted to a slightly drunk girl. snogged a slightly drunk girl. Turned down invitation to The Engine Rooms. Agreed to see her today.

Today, was Pride. Got some nice pics and uploaded some highlights.

Friend from Bristol couldn't come down, neither could [profile] squirrel_dreams.  Thought I'd try and meet a friend hadn't seen for ages but don't have her number and she wasn't answering what I was given as new number.  People I met last night aren't talking to me (I wasn't expecting them to but though I'd try), and all my Brighton friends are working.  Big festivals are pretty dull on your own.  I'm sure there's a way to solve this but I don't know how.  I tried treating it like a sci-fi convention but the social dymanic just doesn't work with normal people (except for that steampunk guy in the last photo).

Seem to be at a loose end now.

edit: Girl I met last night eventually responded to my text:)

edit2: And completely failed to show up when I suggested meeting up again.

Not a big problem. Met some nice people in a pub. You meet all sorts of nice people when you wear a Captain Jack style coat during Pride:)

Ack, sorry to her you ended up at Pride alone. i didn't go at all because Iwas working, but its happened to me a couple of times and I never worked out how to deal with it.

So, who do you know who seems to know me then? It happens a lot. Need spider diagrams, lol!

One of the Brighton Roleplaying guys. John something. I mentioned puppetland and he mentioned you'd told him about it. It's not a name I hear a lot of, unless referring to you.

Meh. Wasn't exactly expecting a long term relationship :)

Was just a bit disappointed that she wasted my time.

That's happened to me too.

I don't care if you're not interested, but don't be all passive-aggresive and say you are and don't show.

I agree. I think this is a minority view though.

Yeah, I chatted about this with a friend of mine and she defended the girl saying "She was probably just shy or didn't want to hurt your feelings". Like that justifies bad manners. *shakes head*

Rant mode on:

The thing is, that's sort of true. But it's also a cowardly cop-out.

She doesn't want to say "no" because that makes her feel bad. Instead, she messes me about until I lose interest. Makes her feel better because then I'm the one losing interest in her.

I can cope with rejection. I don't like being lied to.
