More contracting annoyances

Can I start tomorrow until the 12th?
Well, I probably could but really I'm not dropping everything just for them after they dithered for two weeks. Will start Friday.
But there's no way I'll manage anything in 6 (or even 7) working days. They will want to extend the contract. So does the agent. So I've made it clear that I want to know how long it will last.
It's nice to be in a position to be a little bit pushy.
