Helmet

My poor fake German M40 helmet has vanished in the limbo between masterofapath and forbiddendanish .  I still want that back!  GRRRRR!

So, I acquired a new helmet for my mole.  It's pretty cool, being actual metal, and also rusty.

Alas it needs work.  There's no padding or strap inside it and no strap outside either.  And there's a sort of spike coming in from the top - a 1cm peg that presumably is used to attach the interior.  Were I at home I'd be able to find adequate bits to solve this.  I'm not at home, so I can't.  Oh well.

It seems that at least half a dozen people want a lift to WitW from me.  Sadly I have to turn all of them down on account of my not going anywhere near Brighton.

What sort of bits do you need for the helmet? I might have something knocking about that's suitable to fix it up.

Firstly I need a way to secure it.

The main problem though is that just balancing it on my head means there's a peg sticking in my head. I'll show it to you later and see if you have devious ideas.

Ah yes, but I am in London and need a lift... ;) (Actually, I don't, I have a lift there, at least, but I thought I should say it anyway :D)

Also, me and Katie now have a flat, albeit a temporary one (hopefully) so you need to come and visit. I also have some leatherworking stuff if not at the flat then at the parents pretty close so if you need anything for repairing the helmet then let me know. Where abouts in London are you based currently?

Did you actually check the hatrack bit of forbiddendanish's coatstand?

It may well have just got covered up by layers of Stuff(tm)
