Microsoft want to interview me for a fixed term contract.

Trouble is they want to do this as soon as possible.  I'm working at the moment and this company wants me here!  Plus I'm not really sure I want to sacrifice half a day's pay for just the possibility of a job.

The agent or Microsoft's recruitment people don't seem to understand this.  Having established that I can't take time off work for an interview, they're offering an "early morning interview". Well, it will have to be early...

Edit:  I don't need to work on Monday.  have suggested an afternoon interview.

Really, they're usually pretty competent.

I had a flatmate once who had worked for Microsoft in London for a while, said it was an excellent place to work and he got lots of perks. OK, maybe 1 guy is not a representative sample, but it's cause for some hope. Good luck!

They do have a very good reputation as employers. Even for how they treat contractors (and in the US they're one of the few companies to pay interns)

This is with the LIVE! (games) studio which might be a bit different.

Hope your new job goes well.

Good luck with the interview!
Are you likely to go with them after the current company releases you?
