My feet hurt.

However, there's a free tourist tram service here that simply goes around Melbourne in a circle.  I thought I'd have a go with that.  Got off to take some photos.  Discovered I'd broken my camera.  No idea how. Oh well.  I'd had it for a while.  It clearly wanted me to upgrade.  Got the letest version of the same range.  More megapixels, 10x zoom, takes the same batteries and memory card (everything take SD cards these days).  Took forever to find a shop that sells camera.  When I finally did, I went round the corner and found another three.

Wonder if my insurance covers this sort of thing.

Last night I ambled around town. It was Monday night so pretty dead.  Of interest was the helicopter hovering over the river, and the people with torches looking at the river.  Very odd.

I did a full circuit on the tram once camera was sorted.  Went to the top of the Eureka Tower because I like skyscrapers.  Not been a busy day.  Still sorting out sleep patterns.  Tram service has commentary.  Apparently there's a Tim Burton thing on at the Australian Centre For The Moving Image (ACMI).

Met a geek couple at the hotel.  Met another geek on the train.  Expect this to happen a lot.

Free limited internet access at Southern cross station.  Blocks me after 30 minutes.  Then I delete the cookie and get another 30 minutes.

Yes, your camera should be covered by travel insurance. Depends on your policy and you may have to pay the first £x of your claim anyway.

The SBS studios are an interesting piece of architecture, lol. And the Royal exhibition building looks like someone hoovered up one of London's Victorian museums! Luna park is worth a go and has a very distinctive entrance [GG]. . Telstra Dome, the Southern Star Observation Wheel, public art displays and several dining precincts can be found in Docklands. If you've got transport, or can find the right bus/tram, Dandenong Ranges are famous for the Puffing Billy steam train in Belgrave, a large suburb of Melbourne.

Dunno what your itinerary is like, but if you get a chance go hang out in Fitzroy and Brunswick districts. It's a really cool, chilled sort of studenty/ arty area, little galleries and interesting shops. And the VegieBar on Brunswick Street, which is amazing, best vegie food I've had outside of Brighton.
