The BBC on how Helsinki airport stays open.
Is it just me, or is that a bit of an unfair comparison. Helsinki gets 100 days of snow a year. London will rarely get more than 5, and frequently have zero. Most of the time the airport does manage to stay open in the snow. Spending the extra money for equipment that will be used on average less than once a year doesn't sound like the best investment. How about comparing with Frankfurt or Amsterdam?
