Try to do one of these each year.  It's nice to keep track

1. What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?
Gave blood.

Also went to Australia.  The holiday was pretty much the highlight of the year.

2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Yes, but not in January.  New Years resolutions should be kept for spring.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Two good friends who I rarely see,

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.

5. What countries did you visit?
Singapore.  Australia.  Dubai

6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
My own home.  Also love but I always want that.

7. What date from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
None in particular.  Mainly because I don't remember many actual dates.  I will remember the whole parents house flood saga

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Fixing a memory leak at work:)  Well, it gave me considerable satisfaction.  Was actually quite pleased to do the rapid replanning of birthday when weather wasn't quite right.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Nanowrimo.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Caused myself a bit of a nasty slipping on the ice.

11. What were the best things you bought?

A holiday.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Any of the Lib Dems who voted against tuition fees increases.

13. Whose behaviour appalled you?
Any of the Lib Dems who voted for tuition fees increases.  The Tories I'll let off becuase that's what they do.

14. Where did most of your money go?
On that holiday.

Actually most of it went on rent but that's the case every year and would be really boring.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Guess what...Australia!

16. What song will always remind you of 2010?
"Do you come from a land down under...."

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i.happier or sadder? Happer.  Much happier
ii.thinner or fatter? Fatter.  Probably.
iii.richer or poorer? Richer, but only slightly in a financial sense.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Seeing friends.  Writing.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Internet.

20. How will you be spending Christmas and/or New Year's?

Catgirl and space pirate party for New Year.  At parents' friends place for Christmas.

Number 21 is, alas, no longer with us...

22. Did you fall in love in 2010?
Wouldn't call it love.  Certainly fell for Emma.

23. How many one-night stands?
At least one;)

24. What was your favourite TV program?
Avatar: The last Airbender.  Am a bit behind with that one.

Nope

WWW:Wake.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
See, I don't really do music. I like listening to it but never really obsess.

28. What did you want and get?
To meet new and interesting people.

29. What did you want and not get?
A new phone, dammit!

30. What was your favourite film of this year?
Avatar.

Hijacked a Worldcon room party.  As an official birthday celebration went to Brunswick Festival and Moshi Moshi with some of my favourite people in the world.

A less frustrating contract.

Purple.

34. What kept you sane?
Seeing people at the weekends.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Olivia Wilde.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Just the election.  The tuitition fees thing irritated me a little more because of the broken promises than the bad decision.

37. Who did you miss?

Tink.  Even if I did see her a couple of times.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
[livejournal.com profile] emma_roberts80 . Really I've been a little stressed all this year. Think I should have done Serenity but I wasn't sure if I'd be able to cope. Certainly didn't have the cocky self-confidence that I managed in 2009. Contracting seems to have stabilised though. So wish I could have seen the Bristolians a little more. I am really really pleased I went on that holiday. Worth every penny.

Not sure.

It's sort of nice to keep track. It is nice to think how well the year went.
