Should I just ignore agents?

I applied for a contract.  Was told the company wanted to get someone in as soon as possible, ideally by the 14th.  So, assuming this would mean short notice interviews, I kept the week free. 

Finally I get a call from the agent.  They want to do a telephone interview next week. 

Was hoping to do IDP camp this week.  I could have done. 

I'm a tad peeved. 

In the future I'll just let them fit themselves around my schedule.

Yes, you should definitely let them fit themselves around your schedule. Makes it clear that you are more important than them :)

Yeah. Wasn't thinking. Was getting a bit panicky about lack of interest before realising I hadn't actually been looking until last week. Should have realised I have plenty of cash to last a few months and they would have had to accept the possibility that I was doing something else for a couple of days.
