Back home. Some final thoughts.

luckykaaSo, America. I find the place fascinating, but there's somethign about the place that I can't quite put my finger on, that rubs me up the wrong way. Maybe it's just first impressions - America doesn't really make you feel wanted. I think though it's more that there's a certain bossiness. Lots of signs saying "It is illegal to do this" "That is banned", "Don't even think of doing the other".
On the plus side, the people are friendly, you get good service in restaurants, and the portions are generous. I did have a very good time. Rather wish I'd been able to afford more time there. See a little bit more of the country. Chicago is very nice, and nice and sunny. And there's a lovely geek crowd there. Archtiecture is awesome, and there's a fantastic nightlife, especially if you can find good places out in the various 'hoods.
Flight was knackering though, as is shifting time zones. Still kinda tired.
Think I'll be giving Maelstrom a miss. Shame to miss the final ever event, but after spedoing so much time in airports, I really can't face another trip for a few weeks. And I just don't have any LARP keen any more. Sorry peoples. Perhaps I'll be able to bring myself to crew for Serenity.
