Decided to take a look at the museums in and around town. Started with a roundabout walk to find out what the prominent building by the Pont Adolphe bridge is (it's a bank and bank museum, but apparently only open banking hours), past the palace again - Shaun Ogg was still on duty but they'd splashed out on a second guard. Actually saw the changing of the guard. Seems to involve a lot of stamping and stepping.

Was tempted by the modern art museum and the fortress but that seemed like a little too much hill climbing. Instead went to see the city history museum to see some history of the city. Decent place. Has models of the city in various centuries so we can see how it grew. Was pretty much an impregnable fortress for all that time. Sadly it wasn't immune to sieges, so did fall a few times. Also a lot about the usual things in a European city - industrialisation, European communities membership, and so on.

So, finished that. Acquired some frites for lunch, and another beer. Luxembourg doesn't do beer nearly as well as Belgium. Had a bit more of a wander to see the National Monument of Solidarity

Walked down to the bottom of the Valley. Thought I'd take a peek at the natural history museum. About half an hour later I'd fully peeked. Not a very big natural history museum. There was a nice art fair on the bridge though, with someone playing a street organ.

Feet were getting tired and hourly train left in 20 minutes so I thought I'd call it a day after that. Epic climb up the hill and onto the train for the slow, slow journey back to Brussels.
