Christmas Eve Drinks
Dec. 24th, 2013 09:53 pmChristmas Eve always seems to go a bit slowly. I'm still a kid at heart and anxiously waiting for Christmas Day. In the past, I've been to the pub with old friends from school. Sadly they're all having kids and don't seem interested in staying in touch. Best Friend From School and I like to keep the tradition going though.
So this year we decided to see each other and grab other mutual friends for late afternoon drinkage. Place was packed. Only table left was reserved, but not for another hour or so so we nabbed that one. Pub had lots of people having a good time, a tree in the corner, and mulled wine and hot Cider. So I caught up with old friends, gave gifts of Miracle Fruit sweets, and drank hot and cold alcoholic beverages.
Later on they had someone come in to play the piano for some Christmas songs. Initially to our dismay, but it turned out he was really good, so I bought the pianist a beer for his troubles. The attempt to do split male/female verses for Good King Wenceslas (boys do the King, girls do the Page) seemed a little too technical for the clientele though. We were a bit better with jingle bells.
Am feeling distinctly Christmassy.
