sleepy day in Akrotiri

luckykaaDeclared today a day off.
No excursions. No activities. Barely even any walking. Aim was just to chill and ideally reach a state of boredom.
Started off in the pool. Got slightly sunburned. Went to Akrotiri village. It's a tiny village but since this is a tourist area there's a decent selection of bars and restaurants.flickums has taken to being very careful to ensure these places sell soft drinks having been disappointed yesterday. Picked up some cold drinks. Returned to hotel room. Snuggled. Watched videos.
Decided to try a beachside cafe for dinner. Really nice place at the bottom of the hill. Nice view of the entire island and the volcano. Had fun being nosey about what cruise ships were parked in the distance, and finding out where they were headed. Flickums enjoyed playing with a local cat.
Inexplicably, at the end of the meal they provided us with a large plate of watermelon. We didn't request watermelon. Neither of us like watermelon. Seemed a bit of an odd thing to do.
Return to the top of the hill was a struggle but we made it, and got to see the final two cruise ships sail away from the comfort of the hotel balcony.
So that was it for today. It's nice to have these do-nothing days from time to time. Been so busy it's nice to wind down.
